Hikin' the "Y"

My personal definition of hiking:
At the beginning, an inspirational walk through nature to
appreciate the beauty, when in reality it's a tiring, everlasting walk on a dirt pathway where
you can't wait until the second you reach your destination so that you can turn around and redo exactly what you JUST did...
Yeah... now that definition might be a little long and dramatic for Webster's type.
But hey, every time I go hiking, I start out with this optimistic attitude when in the end,
I just wanna get back to my nice air-conditioned car.
Now, this hike I took on Saturday wasn't long. It's just up the side of the mountain
to the big white "Y" representing BYU's territory.
I thought, now if I go to that school, I better at least touch their famous landmark.
Actually, this Saturday was Madison's first day off in a l-o-n-g time, and it
was about 69 degrees, beautiful I tell ya. It's amazing how when the sun comes out, so do the people.
People were literally all about town, laying on any open grass soakin up the rays,
I don't blame 'em one bit.
So Mad got this brilliant idea to hike the "Y", I though "sure, what the heck".
It was actually quite nice. Constant uphill, but I'm alive.
I will admit, the sides of my bootay are pretty soar though.
We brought puppy Wes, and he was loving his life.
He literally ran almost the entire way up!
Not to mention he was suddenly everyone's best friend that was on the trail.
Honestly, the dog had to say hello to everyone. And everyone was in love with him.
It really is had to capture this little guy's cuteness. His spastic little personality only makes him that much cuter.

This is my
"Lion King" moment.
This is my "I'm so proud of myself" moment.
I wish I would've gotten more pics of Madison, he was such a stud.
My face was all flushed and I was panting, and he was just strolling along.
Then again- consider the size differences in our legs. I had to work twice as hard!!
The view was pretty gorgeous.
And... this is what Wesley looked like literally the second we got into the car.
He zonked out on my lap. Poor little guy.
Anywho, that was my little weekend adventure in the sun. Although I don't plan on hiking for a while,
it was worth it. Just being outside is a must sometimes.
Let me just vouch for myself and say I haven't had the best hiking experiences in my past,
so don't think I'm a huge wimp. I'm just a little wimp...
Hopefully the sun will stay. I like it when it's out and about, so I can do the same.
