We Got Hitched!

On October 18th 2013, Madison and I were married.
We were sealed in the LDS San Diego Temple, the weather was perfect,
the day was smooth, the dinner was delicious, and the reception was a party!

Patterns

So I have this pattern in my life that has been pretty prominent that past couple of years.
Basically- it's me feeling content with my life and the path I'm on and then -- BAM --
I completely change directions. And it's usually out of my control.
This isn't a bad thing necessarily- but it's confusing and somewhat exhausting.
But hey, keeps life interesting right?

I can't complain. I have a very wonderful, blessed life and I love the people in it.
Sometimes I just wish that maybe Heavenly Father would just shoot me a text or something telling me what decisions will benefit my future most.
That'd be nice, wouldn't it?

Too bad it's not that easy.

We're Engaged!!

Ladies & Gentlemen,
I couldn't be happier to announce to I am officially engaged to my best friend - Madison Blood.
Yesterday (the 22nd of June) Madison told me that my sister Paige wanted us to go with
her to a family friend's wedding, so I dressed "nicely" casual (if that makes sense).
We had an hour to spare before the "wedding" and Madison recommended that we take our
dog Wesley on a walk somewhere different, which meant Sundance.
I didn't think anything of it since we always take him to random places.
Madison & Paige picked me up and we went to Sundance, listening to music & laughing the way up.
When we got there, everything seemed normal and we started walking up the trails.
We started walking across a pretty little bridge over the water and Madison paused,
but Paige continued to walk ahead. I turned back & asked if he was okay, he nodded,
so I continued to follow my sister.
Then he called my name and asked me to come over to him. I thought maybe something was wrong,
so I walked back and asked him if everything was okay.
He then grabbed my hands and got this serious look on his face, and my stomach dropped... I knew.
He began by saying "We have been together for 4 years, 4 months, 2 weeks & 1 day..."
Honestly, the next little bit is a little blurry because I become so overwhlemed.
He then told me how much he loved me and how he wants to spend eternity with me,
then proceeded to get down on one knee and pulled out a little wooden box.
The ring is so beautiful. Truly, I'm so astonished by it still.
I of course said yes!
Something funny was that I was so flustered in that moment that I actually gave him my right hand...
but he ignored it and grabbed my left haha that's kind of embarrassing.
Then Paige came over and took tons of pictures and I just couldn't stop hugging him.

Later on, after calling a billion people, we went to dinner at this really nice place called "La Jolla".

I didn't see my night turning out the way it did, but I'm so honored and so grateful it did.
I can't wait to marry Madison and begin our life together.
Here's to the future!

Belated Birthday

Two weeks ago my parents came into town for birthday weekend.
I already mentioned, they blessed with the best car in the world, but to be honest-
I would have been happy just with their presence...
but of course the car made it that much more special!

On my birthday we went to breakfast at Magelby's Fresh, I took 2 hours to get ready after the gym,
hung out with Madison and took Wes to the park until it started raining, listened to conference,
had dinner with family and friends and P.F Changs and saw a movie.

It was more than I could have asked for.
I truly am so grateful for the people in my life.
I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most social person ever, and I blame that on being blessed from such a young age with amazing people that no one else seems to compare.

Thank you again Mom & Dad.
Thanks for driving up to UT, the gifts, the love and everything else.
Means the world to me.

Moab Getaway

Ladies & Gents...
This is where I will be spending my weekend.
I am going camping with a large group of peope to this beautiful land known as Moab.
For my birthday last week, Madison said he had a surprise for me this weekend...
He knew I've been wanting to go legit camping, and here we are.
Even though there is a bigger group going, Madison & I will have time to just enjoy the scenery
and explore everything ourselves. Oh, and Welsey too!
Can't forget that little pooch of mine.

I'm really excited.
A weekend out of touch with reality and just enjoying nature.
I cannot wait.

BTW! My parents are the sweetest people alive and surprised me with a new car
for my bday last week. It's a 2013 Honda Civic, white with tan interior and I'm absolutely in love.
Her name is Aphrodite... after the goddes of love.
Which I feel fits quite appropriately!

Be in Love

I adore this quote.
No matter how miserable you may feel, never fall "out" of love with your life.
Thanks Jack Kerouae.
I'm lovin' the "love" quote.

Mountains to Climb

This video holds a message that I know so many people need to hear.
No matter what trial we are enduring, we need never feel alone for we are always in the Lord's service.

Dating Anniversary #4

(He'd kill me if he knew I posted these pictures. As you can see, we were a little unprepared haha)
This past Thursday, Feb. 7th, marked the 4 year "anniversary" with Mr. Madison.
I feel a little strange saying anniversary, just because I feel like that should be used for marriage,
so I'll call it dating anniversary?
Anyway, 4 years ago I went to the Winterformal dance with him and on the dance floor,
he asked me to be his girlfriend. I believe we were dancing to Of Boys and Men?
Gosh that's so high school and so cheesy.
But hey- still a cute memory!

I never thought I'd be where I am in my life, with him.
I never saw myself dating one person the way I have, but that just goes to show you that you never know!
I'm so blessed to have him as my significant other.
I truly am so grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Happy 4 year "dating anniversary" Madison, I love you.

Did I mention how he spoils me? I don't think I am high maintenance...
but I will say I do love how he spoils me!
He surprised me with a new Cannon Rebel T3I!
I couldn't contain myself and now my pictures will be perfecto.
I'm so excited!

January '13

I don't know what is going on with me lately, I just never feel like I have anything to blog about.
Since I haven't posted anything this year so far, I figured why not write about the month of January.

From the beginning...
I went home for Christmas for 11 days.
I love being around my family and it's so nice to come home once in a while.

New Years Eve, Madison and I made reservations at a restaurant in SLC called The Roof.
It was an amazing buffet of food, food, and more food. And I wasn't mad about it.
I chose not to do the "college" New Years Eve where you go out to a party and pay way too
much to get in and then it's just stupuid people on drugs that don't know
how to behave as a sane human being.
Yeah, it's so entertaining, but not worth my money.
So a quieter, more relaxed night where we did something different was perfect.
Probably my favorite New Years yet!

I was then lucky enough to have my oldest sister Whitney come into town with my nephews and neice.
We went sledding, swimming in the hot springs, and just hung out.
I wish so badly that I could see them more.

Now here is my least-favorite announcement... I slid into a pole.
Stupid Ice.
I was driving in my parking lot (which is horribly concstructed) and slid right. into. a. pole.
And now, poor Boo-Boo (my car's name) is seriously injured.
I know she ain't pretty, but this car has been a trooper.
Never has given me problems, and this is how I repay her. I actually feel legitimetely guilty.

This month, I rented a puppy for 2 hours.
It was beautiful.
Just for 2 hours, Wes had someone to play with and I always am up for puppies!
They delivered the puppy to my apt, and picked him up 2 hours later.

Now I'm back in classes, written 2 papers (which isn't that bad considering I'm 1 month into this semester)
and right now, slightly sleep-deprived.
But hey, I'm a lucky to have the opportunity to go to BYU.
Plus, I have this little guy to cheer me up ever day.

  So, there ya have it.
Now you're updated on my 2013.
